Don’t get swindled... GET SLIM!

I was at home thinking about my fat girl diary when a fat friend or my once-plus-sized-friend as I suppose she wants to be referred to called and ranted on and on about a new slimming pill she found. How it has worked for her, and her sister and sister’s sister and cousin and brother and brother’s wife...lol.

I didn’t really know the answer to give her because I was sincerely tired of taking slimming pills; I can’t remember which one I have not taken...I took living bitters and one of the Edmark products for a while for detoxification. I took some GNLD products in its days, I took Acaiberry, and uncountable herbal slimming teas and some how I shed the weight and added it back and I even become bigger when I stop. Am not saying these pills or herbal teas don’t work, in fact I notice the changes on my body like immediately I start taking them. But after two or 3 packs, I get tired of being on “drugs” and I immediately start gaining the weight back.

Please this post is not a way to spoil or de-market any product; it’s just a diary *winks*. So back to my friend, in fairness to her, she has actually lost some weight, and it’s really getting obvious so I’m being tempted to go with her and purchase the drugs. According to her the whole package is gonna cost me almost N25 000. A whooping Twenty five thousand Naira just to stay slim? I will rather stay this way than get ripped off...lol, Slim is expensive o!

I mean how can I spend so much to shed weight, how much will I have left to even eat, transport myself to work, buy that shoe and dress and perfume and the human hairs in vogue now, you know na... How much will I have left to save to get me a car, maintain my BB and all..Jokes apart, do you think it’s worth it? As much as I want to lose the fat, I can’t spend all my kudi to do that ooo.

Am not against any form of weight loss programs and diet tips that work o, but I will prefer one that will achieve that purpose without affecting my wallet too much . Knowing that we have a lot of them these days from the fat-blockers and metabolism-boosters to those pills that prevent hunger and beat cravings, you know them abi? The promise that we can get maximum results with minimum effort (No exercises, no cutting off carbs and counting calories) is simply too good to resist!

The weight loss industry is worth billions year in year out, they do clever marketing...but clever marketing doesn’t mean great product, does it? But really, do slimming pills work like they say it does? Right now I’m getting tempted to go purchase the new pills, do you blame me? Exercising has not been easy. (Between I have been craving chocolate cake so much. So I might have to treat myself real soon, watch out, will get u guys a snap...lol)

So for people like me who are considering taking some form of pills or herbal tea to stay slim, by all means do but let's be careful of those pills that suggest rapid weight loss or those ones that come with some funny diets that cut out certain group of food or encourage you to eat a large amount of a particular food please be wise and let them go.

One of the things that will help us lose weight safely and sensibly is to watch our eating habit, and I think one very important thing is to make a LONG-TERM change to our diet and life-style so we won’t be needing these quick fix remedies and if we can’t resist the unbelievable offers we get on slimming pills, lets at least avoid the products that make outrageous claim, if an offer sounds too good to be true, then it probably isn’t true.

More readily available than ever before, slimming pills have rapidly become the route of choice for many people that want to lose weight fast but in the long term, very few people benefit from these pills. So here’s my advice: do everything you can to be slim and STAY slim but please don’t get ripped.
