ADIEU! MIA AMBER DAVIS...

This is coming a bit late, but I guess it’s better late than never.

In my journey to be a real advocate of plus size ladies, I decided to choose mentors. I have a handful of them, sadly one of them passed away some days ago, Mia Amber Davis.

Mia Amber Davis was a television producer and plus size model, she was also known for her acting in the famous comedy “Road trip”. She had a very dazzling face; she was absolutely confident and represented Beauty, Focus, and Poise.

Mia, served as creative editor-at-large for Plus Model Magazine, was often considered to be one of the most successful plus size models working in the industry, modeling for brands like Lane Bryant, Just My Size, Ashley Stewart etc. She also appeared on “The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency”,  "Kimora's "Life in the Fab Lane" and advocated for size-acceptance on several news networks.

Modeling was her work, but it was her mission to encourage plus size women everywhere to be happy and healthy at their size. “Her ‘Curvy Girls Rock’ Tee-shirts and tank tops were huge sellers at plus sized events ; and it was another way for her mission statement to reach the masses. Mia Amber Davis’ passion and dedication to plus-size women was so intense and it showed  in everything she did from modeling to blogging. She will be remembered as one of the community’s most beautiful, positive and confident icons.

Mia Amber Davis passed away on Tuesday 10th of May, 2011, a day after undergoing a seemingly routine knee surgery in Los Angeles. Mia died at the young age of 36.

She would be remembered as a lovely wife, a gorgeous model , an excellent TV producer and most of all as a plus-size sistah!

Mia, we love you and we miss you.
