I have been seeing comments about some "Orobo" song performed by Sound Sultan on twitter for a while now; apparently it was released in 2010. People made lots of comment about the song so I told myself I was going to listen to the song too. I was the internet this night and I just remembered, so I got on YouTube and now here I am with the lyrics and the audio of the remix.
I listened to the song and I just couldn't stop laughing, methinks it was a good one, though I didn't like the "gorodome" idea cus while I was growing up, I remember we used the word in a derogatory manner, but hey what the heck, out of all the words people qualify plus -sized girls with, "gorodome" sure sounds cool ....lol, by the way I think "gorodome" means drum not the percussion oh, those metal/ plastic drums people use as a form of storage. Just on a lighter note, I thought I should post it on my fat naija girl blog. I will appreciate if you take few minutes to make your comment about the song. Have fun listening to it....

Finally a song for the orobos, funny and danceable
ReplyDeleteAlthough I am not an orobo I think it's good that he is challenging the funny foreign fallacy that skinny is what ladies should be. I do not advocate obesity rather a healthy figure that flaunts our God- given African curves. The song is too gbaski! Thanks for this gal....good work.
ReplyDeleteGod bless you Adedayo for posting this and God bless Sound Sultan too... in a sly way,you guys are making a difference in our world, Sound Sultan said, "wot is the meaning of 'fine' who are we to define'? True talk dere boss
ReplyDeleteLOVE LOVE LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!!!!!! Finally a song for the orobos!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSound Sultan is one of the most "gbaski" artistes in Nigeria today. This song is so loaded and it just keeps me wondering where he gets his inspiration from. Sound Sultan made plus-size women smile last year with this single ‘Orobo’. In a humorous way, the song eulogizes the wonderful qualities of a plus-size woman. Big ups
ReplyDeleteNyce one here, Niaja fat girl...lol
ReplyDeletehahaha! nice :P
