If growing up can be such a mess, why then do we go through the life in a hurry, we don't take our time to enjoy the scenery, we waste the present by waiting for the future to come before we start living. Some people miss out on the present day pleasure for the future they might never feature in. The holy book even confirms it, it says we should not think about tomorrow, because tomorrow will take care of itself. The anciet Persian poet Omar also said "unborn tomorrow and dead yesterday, why fret about them, if today be sweet'?"
Life has a way of accelerating as we get older, the days become shorter, and the list of promises to ourselves get longer. We wake up one morning and see that all we have to show for our lives is a list of i'm going to, I plan to, etc. I'm just wondering what happened to spontaneity, we postpone stuffs we wanna do like..I will go see my mum when am on leave, I will have time for my child when I have money, we lose touch with friends because we didn't call. Hey! better slow down ...don't dance so fast, the music might not last forever.
If we were told that we are gonna die tomorrow or may be next week and given the chance to do all we want to do may be make a call, go on vacation, visit places, love someone back... what will we do? So what's stopping us from doing those things now?
Life is too short to be postponed jare, take chances today, act on impulse, tell the truth, lie for the fun of it, date someone you think is totally wrong for you, say no and mean it, say yes, spend all your cash, fall in love, break a heart, nurture your own broken heart, get to know anyone randomly, say I love you and really mean it, laugh out loud at stupid jokes, cry, give someone a smile, hug someone, get a revenge, apologise, tell the special people in your life how much they mean to you, stand up to a bully, say what's on your mind, tell someone you miss them, stalk someone, laugh till your stomach hurts, live your fantasy, go on road trips, visit the beach, go to the cinema, exercise more, eat healthy, read that book, sing that song, buy that shoe you so want to own, have some me-time, do whatever you've been postponing or putting off....LIVE LIFE, you don't have forever.

Yeah, I'm so with u on this....one life, live it!

ReplyDeleteGreat words, Sis. It is important to live in the NOW. Like in the words of a life coach.. Now means NOW! While we dream, the essence will be lost if we miss the whole fun and adventure of getting there.

Not all of us possess the gift of impulsiveness but we will try.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you when you say that many of us waste the present. We are in a hurry to rush into the future that we ignore where we are now. I was like this once but have since 'adjusted'
P.S : You don't look fat to me, is it an irony?
