Oh GOD of creation...

The 51st anniversary of Nigerian independence is in few days and  preparation is already in top gear, I sit here and I’m thinking about it all… the Jos crises, the Maiduguri bombings, the road accidents, the collapsed buildings, the Abuja bomb explosions, the-husband-mutilate-wife &the- wife-maim-husband stories, the bad roads, the erratic electricity, corruption, poverty and loads of other issues we have come through in the past year.

Our president doesn't have a clue on how our dear nation will go forward, we no more serve our fatherland with love and strength; neither do we serve in faith. The patriotic lyrics of our National Anthem has lost its value. No love, no honesty , no growth, we don't even live in truth. The nation that is supposed to be bound in freedom, peace and unity is now rocking with fear and bomb blasts.

As we all prepare for the Oct 1st I think  the only song and prayer that should be on our lips is the 2nd stanza of the national anthem…

                                "Oh God of creation,
Direct our noble cause,Guide our leaders right.
Help our youths the truth to know
In love and honesty to grow,
                                 And living just and truth
                                 Great lofty heights attain
To build a nation where peace and justice shall reign"

P.S: Below is the Tiwa Savage's version of  the National Anthem

  1. I try not to think of the things that are wrong about this nation most times, because that is capable of making one run mad or at least go mad with rage.

  2. It's indeed been a long year... one in which we've lived on hope of better days to come!
Each day seem to be tougher than the last but throught it all we hope and pray... If we let the pains weigh us down and wear us out, who will tell the story and write the history for the generations unborn???

  4. Uhm, I really long year.. I cannot believe it will soon be a year now from the ABJ bombing, yet no progress has been made, either on that matter or any of the preceding ones. We still have leaders who bury their heads in the sand...
Oh God of Creation, guide us all right, not just our leaders...some of us truly need Jesus, in high dose!

  5. Mehn this our country Nigeria, I don't even know what to say anymore. Sometimes I think about what a few years from now would look like and it really scares me I tell you. I can never live in any other country permanently, I really pray, wish and hope, the country I call home gets better. And I hope to add my own little quota.
