House 12, Plot XXII, Hope Crescent...What's your address on this street?
I did this writing on my phone last night before going to bed, but I just don't get what happened, only the title got posted, thanks to Miss Lara, her comment notified me. So here is a figment of my imagination.
I'm imagining a street full of single men and ladies hoping to meet their future husbands and wives, they have their different stories and lifestyle. I'm sure one or two of us live on this street.
These are some occupants of Hope Crescent, Off Marriage Avenue
HOUSE 1
MEET MISS PERFECT
She is a good girl, does the right things, good background, grew up in a christian home, attends different single seminars on relationships, a perfectionist to the core and all that.
She has a list of the qualities she wants in a future husband:
1. A man of God
2. Good and well paid Job
3. Looks like Denzel Washington
4. Beautiful, sleek car etc.
A lot of men have approached MISS PERFECT but they all have not met her qualities so she is still single and wondering why Mr. Right has not come, after all she dresses well, she fasts and prays all the time, goes to church and all...I guess we all have to join her in prayer and fasting so Mr right comes...(*now praying)
HOUSE 2
MISS HEAVEN- BOUND
Oh! I am sure y'all have met Miss heaven-bound. She's on her knees praying for a husband 24/7 on weekends and public holidays, she leaves the house only for church services and work. She doesn't attend social functions or even visit friends because that will mean meeting with Hell-bound people. Her free times are spent petitioning God about a partner. The last time I checked she was still praying and trusting God for a partner...(I pray he drops from heaven o!)
HOUSE 3
MISS DESPERADO
Desperate to get married, she's tired of waiting for Mr. Right and she thinks she's getting too old. You know she was a good girl back on campus but now she's getting tired of being good, she just wants to get married, at whatever cost. Outwardly she appears strong and focused but inwardly she is weary. After waiting for too long, she finally goes into a relationship against all she's hoped for in a man,he is not just the right man for her in all standards...no certificates or intention to go to school, no job or business that make ends meet, no plans for a future...the only thing he knows to do is make money off people on the internet, dresses up well, parties, gets drunk and drives round town looking for a prey to warm his bed.. ( I hope Miss desperado knows what she's in for)
HOUSE 4
MR FRIENDLY
I'm sure you know this one.I actually met him a while back. He is a friend to a million ladies. Fine boy, good job, he is very comfortable but he just does not seem to know what he wants. He socializes very well, He is not thinking about marriage but he likes the company of ladies. One to cook for him, he has another that goes to parties with him, another one that warms his bed, just different ladies with no serious commitments. He even does not mind one of the ladies having a baby for him ( Mr Young forever, I hope he knows time is ticking, grow up man!)
HOUSE 5
MR UNDER-PRESSURE
The only son of an aged old woman, his mother wishes he gets married in few months as she might die soon. So Mr under-pressure is dating four women at the same time, plans to propose to either lady A, B, C & D. He will eventually get married to the lady that accepts his proposal first. ( Someone please advice him, you don't choose a life partner by the tossing of a coin or by wishes of another person even though that person is your mother)
HOUSE 6
MR LOAD- CARRIER
Mr man had this lady he was dating, been dating since high school and he obviously has plans to marry her but the lady leaves him for another man after she got back from serving her fatherland, she is since married and has two kids.Mr Load-carrier has still not healed from the hurt. In fairness to him, he really wants to be married but anytime he gets so close to a lady he remembers the hurt and draws back and this leads to the end of the relationship. The last I saw him he is yet to drop the baggage he is being carrying around and move on. ( Mr man probably has to see a counselor, if you meet any man with layers of boxes on his head, he just might be him. Please advice him, life is not a bed of roses, people's heart get broken all the time, he should do himself a favour and move on with life before he starts having grey hairs)
***(Yawning) I have to get to bed now, feeling sleepy***
If you live on this street, please be take a word or two from here and relocate to Life Street.
