Come off that stage...Sire? Ma'am?






A lot of hand-pointing has been happening around; it leaves me confused each time.

Thousands of people have strutted through the sidewalks of life, pointing fingers of accusation in every direction. Telling everyone else how to live, meanwhile there is the proverbial plank sticking out their own eyes.

We like to take pompous stands behind our own pulpits and point fingers at what we label “the sin-choked world”. We condemn them and command them to live right, talk correctly, write accurately...

I learnt and I’m still learning a very profound lesson in a hard way – To accept people for who they are. We all are dissimilar unique beings; no two people will ever be the same. Even if we have the same experiences, we will never pick the same lessons from them. This is the real world; people have different opinions, different perceptions, different fingerprints. No one should be tagged evil because they don’t share your belief. I am as entitled to my opinion as you are to yours. You shouldn’t force your doctrines down anyone’s throat.  No one should be mobbed for airing HIS/HER own opinion…

A lot of times we stand on the platform of hypocrisy – a platform that I hope will crumble soon. Stop pointing your damn fingers and lead your own life.

    I loved this, "Even if we have the same experiences, we will never pick the same lessons from them." This is very true. Everyone has a right to their opinion.

    However I want to ask a question, if someone is clearly in the wrong and you are in a position to give advise to correct the wrong behavior, when does it become judging the other person noting that God loves the wrongdoer, but hates the wrong? Just thinking deeply on this. Thanks for sharing this girl. It definitely ministers. Cheers.

      I think giving a piece of advice when you know u are right is okay. The person u are giving the advise has a right to heed or not heed. Its not in our place to force our opinioin of something eventhough we are right.

      And I don't see that as judging. Its just "your" opinioin.

      Thanks for the response. I asked because the lınes between gıvıng advıse to correct wrong behavıour/judgıng someone can be very blurred. To judge someone ın my understandıng, ıs an outrıght condemnatıon of not only the ındıvıdual, but the behavıour as well, meanwhıle, the judge ıs doıng worse. There are certaın behavıours/acts that have been adjudged sın ın the Bıble and we cannot sugarcoat ıt away; as chrıstıans, we should forbıd that whıch God forbıds, but not ın a spırıt of condemnatıon. We have no rıght to condemn anybody bc we only overcome sın ın our lıves purely by the grace of God. However, our attıtude towards the other person who ıs doıng wrong should be that of love. The Bıble says we should speak the truth ın love. That ıs ıt. When you rebuke someone from a love angle, ıt doesn't leave the person feelıng depressed/hopeless, as ıf they are the worst sınners on earth. That's the balance I'm referrıng to. Nıce post BTW.     I suppose its because it is always easier to look at someone and judge, criticize, deconstruct and attempt to reconstruct rather that take a look at the SELF and apply said tools of application that is foist upon others.

    "judge not less yea be judged" for the tools by which one uses to judge another will be the same tools used to judge you. well it goes something like that-i am sure you know what i mean and where am going with my paraphrasing.

    "We" all of us, must remember that when we stand on the outside and judge another that we have no privy to what is/has gone on inside, what their woes, trials and tribulations and hence should refrain from judging and speculating.
