Every day, we all wear our poker faces living life like all is well, but deep inside where no one goes but us, the pain is eating away. Beneath the perfect smile and the chic look, we cry ourselves to sleep some nights.
If there were scars on the outside for every pain on the inside then the world will see how many times our heart has been broken, how many times we soak our pillows with tears, the whole world will see the burden we bear, they will know our secrets, the abuses we try to hide …a friend jokingly replied me on twitter and said “If there were scars on the outside for every pain on the inside, then some people’s name will be “scarmoru” ‘
We hide the pains in the bends of our hearts, we build memories of the pain, and some even hold commemorative services. The pain becomes a point of reference for our lives, life before the pain and life after the pain. We turn our pain to a place of worship. We do all but refuse to deal with the pain.
I read in an article that "pain is prospective beauty". But how many of us even know how to turn our pains to beauty? We all have to make an effort to move past the pain and dare to live again. Our future is so much brighter than the memories of what was. Every day is a chance to decide to live better and be free of the chains that has held us down. Every day we get a chance to become better. It’s our choice, we either want to move past the pain or continue to live in the dungeon of the life we were deprived of. The time we waste on the pain can never be gotten back, but we can decide, though HARD, we can decide to move on with our lives. One step at a time, a baby step every day.
Lord, we don’t want to be stuck in the aching memory of the times gone by. We want your joy to fill our hearts, Lord teach us how to work on the sadness so the pains in our heart will turn to splendour inside and outside of us” AMEN

AMEN! It's so easy and 'comfortable' to get stuck in the pains of the past and takes more strength to move on but God's grace is sufficient..
